A great escape for future Jaguar F-Type SVR few weeks before its official revelation!
Scheduled to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the SVR takes some
advance through (because?) Of the Dutch autovisie.nl website.
He was able to capture the manufacturer's German website, which
fleetingly showed the new model, and get in on the .pdf brochure!
The program for this extreme variant: more, more and less. The engine is still the supercharged V8 that we already tried on R AWD . The SVR does indeed exist visibly in-wheel drive, automatic transmission, initially at least.
More powerful than the R version with 575 horsepower (550 against),
more torque with 700 Nm (against 680) and also less weight thanks to
savings of several elements. The optional ceramic brakes allow for example to gain 21 kg, while the titanium exhaust is 12 kg lighter. The curb weight of the SVR is 1705 kg against 1730 for the R, excluding ceramic option.
The SVR takes a look rather spectacular, largely due to its very
discreet spoiler "pie server" much like that of his ancestor XK-RS. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned to enlarge the vents.
The result of these changes? Vmax of 322 km / h and 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds (against 300 km / h and 4.1 sec for R). So rather substantial gain!
Expected in coupe and discoverable, the SVR would be sold this spring,
visibly in limited quantities, for a clientele that we imagine
handpicked. The interior shows no significant change.
Stay tuned for the official confirmation of all this information by Jaguar in persona and presentation in Geneva.
